College football is in full swing, and for some fans that means Saturdays are filled with wall-to-wall action - literally.
Integrators are no strangers to requests for designing and outfitting home theaters with a theme, and often they are sports related.
For CE Pro sister publication Electronic House’s annual Home of the Year Awards, this year’s winner in the Best Themed Theater category was constructed for a proud Notre Dame alum who can focus on one game to watch on his 130-inch projection screen or follow five at a time when the screen retracts to reveal a group of LED TVs. Of course, that’s only the viewing part … everything else in the room helps to create an atmosphere of being immersed in Notre Dame, even the large pieces of artwork that are actually custom-designed acoustical panels.
If football fever isn’t your thing, perhaps chic or opulent theaters are. The silver and bronze winners showcase contrasting, but both visually striking, styles that incorporate the color red. One has the flashiness of a nightclub, while the other features the grandiose design fit for an old-time cinema.
