The True Value of Art TVs in CI: SKYWORTH Reveals Plans for the Canvas Elite at CEDIA Expo 2026

Michael Gleason discusses SKYWORTH's presence at CEDIA Expo 2026, as well as where the company sees home entertainment heading in both the design and outdoor subcategories.

The traditional home theater-centric model is evolving. According to Michael Gleason, Director of Sales at SKYWORTH, as architects, interior designers and builders have increasingly become important partners for integrators, and that’s placed a greater emphasis on design and aesthetics in the home, making art TVs, televisions that replicate framed works of art when not in use, an increasingly important product offering for an integrator to have in their portfolio.

In this conversation with CE Pro as part of ongoing coverage of CEDIA Expo, Gleason sat down with Senior Editor Nick Boever to discuss SKYWORTH’s presence at CEDIA Expo 2026, as well as where the company sees home entertainment heading in both the design and outdoor subcategories.

Gleason says SKYWORTH’s Canvas Elite Series, introduced at CEDIA Expo 2025, has been extremely well received and is now among the company’s best-selling SKUs, particularly the 86- and 100-inch models. He believes the Art TV category addressed a gap in the residential TV market and expects CEDIA attendees who have not yet experienced the products to be impressed by them.

Because of the popularity of the larger Canvas Elite models, SKYWORTH plans to bring the technology to 55-, 65- and 75-inch models. Gleason says these smaller versions will feature a “mini” version of the Canvas Elite technology and are expected to launch early next year.

However, in discussing SKYWORTH’s outdoor business, Gleason says that segment of the company has grown 600% this year. He attributes the broader growth of outdoor entertainment to changes in how homeowners use their properties, particularly following COVID-19.

His larger point is that outdoor spaces are increasingly being treated as another room of the home. Outdoor entertainment is no longer limited to a grill and television; homeowners are adding lighting, audio and other technologies to create fully integrated outdoor environments.

At its CEDIA booth, SKYWORTH plans to give attendees the opportunity to see the 86- and 100-inch Canvas Elite TVs in person, something Gleason considers particularly valuable because large TVs are difficult to transport for demonstrations.

The booth will also feature the smaller Canvas models and a dedicated section showcasing Hydra Frames’ various framing options. Gleason encourages both attendees and those who had not planned to attend to visit the booth to experience the company’s large-format Art TVs firsthand.
