JVC will bring its latest D-ILA projection technology to CEDIA Expo 2026, highlighting native 8K content, large-screen home theater and 4K/120p gaming. At Booth 3511, attendees can experience the company’s DLA-NZ900 and DLA-NZ800 projectors in action. CE Pro sat down with Rob Budde, JVC National Product Manager, Visual Systems Division, to talk about what JVC is bringing to Denver.
CE Pro: What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at CEDIA 2026?
Rob Budde: The biggest trend I see is the move toward larger screens as a mainstream choice for residential applications. Projection systems create an immersive, turnkey, film-like experience that is also easy on the eyes.
As these systems grow in size and sophistication, several key developments will become especially evident at this show:
- Native 8K Sources: New sources, such as the Kaleidescape Strato K player, are bringing native 8K content into the home. As screens grow larger, projectors need greater pixel density to maintain image quality. To fully appreciate 8K resolution, viewers need a larger screen that appears virtually pixel-free. This also allows front-row seating to move closer to the screen, creating a more immersive, cinematic experience.
- Acoustically Transparent Screens (AT Screens): Screens are increasingly extending across entire walls, with the left, center, and right speakers built into the wall behind the screen. This approach creates a more seamless visual experience while delivering the proper soundstage and audio performance.
- Improved Color Reproduction and HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping: Expect to see sources and content mastered with higher bit depths and more sophisticated color sampling, along with emerging HDR standards such as Dolby Vision 2 and HDR10+ Advanced. These formats require displays capable of significantly greater dynamic range than traditional 21-point, gamma-based presentations. Displays will also need to support end-to-end 10- and 12-bit image processing to preserve image quality, color accuracy, and the full creative intent of the content.

CE Pro: How is JVC adapting to changes in the projection/home entertainment market?

We strive to maintain industry standards when it comes to native contrast, deep blacks, color, and image quality. We also place a strong emphasis on HDR performance, with technologies such as Frame Adapt HDR, HDR10+, and the newer Frame Adapt HDR Vivid mode designed to deliver greater contrast, detail, and color depth across a wide range of content.
At the same time, JVC understands the needs of residential integrators. Our DLANZ500 and DLANZ700 are the world’s smallest Native 4K projectors available today, with a more compact, redesigned airflow for greater installation flexibility and motorized lens shift. Projection is a visual experience, and seeing a projector perform on a large screen is far more impactful than simply reading specifications. CEDIA Expo allows integrators the ability to see JVC image quality, native contrast, vibrant color, HDR performance, and overall projector capabilities.
In addition, the show provides the opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing dealers while introducing JVC to new integrators and potential partners. CEDIA Expo gives us access to a highly targeted audience of decision-makers who influence technology choices for residential projects.
