TP-Link’s smart home product brand Tapo is launching three new Matter-certified products, including the Tapo Mini Smart Wi-Fi Plug, Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch and Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer Light Switch, which the company says are the first Matter-certified smart switches and plugs available in Best Buy stores.
The Irvine, Calif.-based company says these new devices offer compatibility with all-certified smart home platforms, smooth LAN control and multi-admin capability.
According to TP-Link, the Tapo Matter light switches allow users to control their lights from anywhere with the Tapo App and a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. The devices also features advanced scheduling and timer features that provide automated control based on user preferences.
For extra security, the Tap Matter light switches can simulate an at-home presence via Away mode for to deter possible intruders.
The switches can also be controlled through popular voice assistants such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Samsung SmartThings.

Meanwhile, the Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer Light Switch can be adjusted from one to 100 percent by sliding a finger on the switch, using the Tapo App or via voice commands. Both switches require a neutral wire and feature a guided installation process compatible with standard-sized wall plates, the company says.
TP-Link is also expanding its Matter-certified line with the Tapo Mini Smart Wi-Fi Plug, which the company says offers detailed in-appl instruction and Bluetooth-enabled onboarding. The device also streamlines third-party integration to help bridge the gap between ecosystems and standardizing the setup process, the company says.
The plug also provides scheduling and can create scenes with a wider range of smart devices, the company says. Users can control the plug from anywhere via the Tapo app, and users can automatically turn off connected devices when the plug is left on for a set time.
TP-Link says that by embracing Matter as a universal smart home standard, these new switches will ensure compatibility with all certified smart home platforms, including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung .SmartThings.
The new devices range in cost from $19.99 to $27.99 and are available at Best Buy and Amazon, the company says.
