Take Note of Healthcare Grants Like $187M in Minn.
If you're interested in the seniors market, look out for new funding to facilitate aging in place.
I just returned from the ProSource Summit in Florida, where I did a presentation on technology for seniors.
In the presentation, I referred to Tom Ardolf, who has doggedly pursued public and private funds to help his company Cybermation (St. Cloud, Minn.) launch an aging-in-place business.
Lo and behold, this morning the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports, "Minnesota wins $187M health care grant."
The grant is specifically to help elderly Medicaid recipients avoid nursing homes and other institutions:
I'm sure Ardolf is making a bunch of phone calls to find the right point person on this. He's been pretty crafty in tapping funding so far.
If you're looking into the seniors market, are you taking note of announcements like this?

Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton's push to involve Minnesota in the federal health care overhaul has resulted in a $187.4 million grant to keep elderly and disabled Medicaid patients out of institutional care.
Federal and state human services agencies announced the funding Tuesday. Minnesota landed the largest sum of all 13 states that got the demonstration grant under the health care law.
I'm sure Ardolf is making a bunch of phone calls to find the right point person on this. He's been pretty crafty in tapping funding so far.
