RTCom USA's Expandable Digital Matrix (EDM) digital video switchers will be showcased at CEDIA Expo 2008.

The EDM3636 and EDM1818 support HDMI v1.3 and resolutions up to 1080p and WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200).

RTCom says the EDM3636 switcher provides up to 36 inputs and 36 outputs of DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort or SDI signals. Its backplane supports six input cards that each have six ports.

The company claims the EDM is "the only solution of its kind."

The EDM1818 also supports up to 6 input cards in the backplane, but each card has only three ports for a total of 18 inputs and 18 outputs.

The switcher's actions can be transparent if controlled by RS-232C or LAN. IR and front panel controls are also available.

Both switchers are HDCP compliant and have built-in EDID with Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory and support non-VESA resolutions.

Aurora Multimedia will exhibit the EDM switchers and more at its booth (590) at CEDIA Expo 2008.

MSRP for the EDM1818 is $39,999 and it is currently available. RTCom did not release pricing or availability for the EDM3636.
