ADA Intros Thermionic Suite iPod System
Audio Design Associates introduced its new
Thermionic Suite iPod system, a two-piece amplification and docking station combination.
The system brings together tubes and solid-state technologies in a hybrid design that can be set up as a standalone system or as part of a complete multiroom system.
The Thermionic Suite iPod system's amp section is rated to at 150 watts and it features an old school three-band EQ with bass, midrange and treble knob adjustments.
JBL, Revel Lead Harman's Presence
Harman International, JBL and Revel had many interesting products in their respective booths, but standing out was
JBL's WEM-1 wireless amplification system.
This new solution, which will cost $359, is a two-piece transmitter/receiver that wirelessly broadcasts audio signals. The receiver module incorporates a 50-watt stereo amp to allow users to drive a set of speakers and the system also includes a mini-pin input to allow the connection of sources such as an iPod.
Revel's new lifestyle-oriented Concerta M8, Concerta C10, Concerta LCR 8, Concerta M10 and Concerta B120 powered subwoofers will provide dealers with the ability to affordably meet the demands of best-in-class clientele that want performance and style from their electronics.
The speaker line provides freestanding and on-wall install options for music and home theater systems. With the addition of the Concerta B120 sub and its wireless transmission capabilities, installers can eliminate unsightly cables that turn off some potential buyers.
