More Changes at D&M: One Big Defection, One Big Promotion
Phil Cohn, SVP sales and marketing, is leaving D&M; 20-year veteran Kevin Zarow promoted to VP sales
Phil Cohn (left) moves out of D&M Holdings; Kevin Zarow moves up.
D&M Holdings has gone through more organizational changes in the past couple of years than any other CE manufacturer, it seems.
Now Phil Cohn, former SVP sales and marketing, is leaving the company. The departure comes just one month after the resignation of Bob Weissburg, former president of D&M Holdings Sales & Marketing.
Stephen Baker, a 27-year D&M veteran who once served as president of Denon USA, left the company in April. He just announced he was joining relative newcomer Olive Media, developer of high-performance digital audio servers.
Meanwhile, Kevin Zarow, a 20-year veteran of Denon and Marantz, has been promoted to VP of sales for D&M’s Denon, Marantz and Boston Acoustics brands.
D&M is still seeking a replacement for Weissburg, and recently created a new VP of product marketing position for Denon and Marantz.
Speaking of changes at D&M, CE Pro has learned that its McIntosh group is eliminating all but about five of its independent manufacturers’ reps.
Neither D&M nor any of its brands will be exhibiting at CEDIA Expo 2011.

Way to go, Kevin!
If that is the case, allentown, then maybe what they need is just this ... some new faces.
Julie you are probably right.
Once you hit bottom there is only one way to go. UP. Or sold…
Kevin is a terrific person and this rewards his previous hard work.
Congrats to Kevin in his new position. His product and market knowledge, coupled with his leadership skills makes this a good move.

D&M has done a very good job of drilling this collection of companies into the ground over the last 5 years.
Congrats
