Monster and Sigma Designs are currently developing a new wireless HDMI solution -- the Monster Wireless Digital Express HD system.
The system uses Sigma's Wireless HDAV and UWB-over-Coax technology to distribute HD content throughout the home.
This system allows in-room and room-to-room distribution of full HD content, transmitting A/V signals up to 330 feet over existing coaxial cables.
Sigma's Wireless HDAV features the company's UWB Windeo chipset and Intelligent Array Radio (IAR) technology.
The IAR technology has three antennas to deliver wireless signals uninhibited by walls or objects, allowing HDTVs to be mounted without the need for HDMI and A/V cables hanging across the walls.
It's not uncommon for wireless HDMI products in development to never hit the market. While that doesn't appear to be the case with Monster, it has happened many times before.
Part of the problem is that people say there's no such thing as wireless HDMI.
Monster says the Wireless Digital Express HD products will ship in October for $299.95, according to the AP.
