DSI holds first annual Vendor Summit
DSI Systems held its first annual Vendor Summit at its corporate headquarters last week in Des Moines, Iowa. Inviting account executives and senior management from all of the DSI Systems vendors, over 100 representatives came together for this important meeting.
“The independent retailer channel is the only sure bet for manufacturers,” declared Dave Robison, CEO of DSI Systems. “And no one services the independent dealer like DSI does. We believe that manufacturers should take a closer look at the significant market share and ongoing strength of this channel as they make their plans for 2010 and beyond. By partnering with DSI Systems, we can work together to deliver the products and selling tools that independent retailers can utilize more effectively in their own market.”
The meeting began on Monday, September 21st, with a cocktail reception to welcome everyone to Des Moines and to the meeting. Tuesday morning started off with a presentation by members of the management team and a keynote address by David Olsen, Senior VP of Sales for DIRECTV. “We used this opportunity to showcase the vast capabilities and many efficiencies that DSI offers manufacturers. Even manufacturers who have been with us for years told me that they learned something new about our capabilities, our culture, and the advantages that we bring to the table,” stated Doug Robison, President of DSI Systems.
After the business meeting, attendees chose between a golf outing and an outdoor excursion to spend time with DSI’s sales, marketing, and merchandising teams. The event culminated with a dinner hosted at the home of Dave Robison, CEO, who summed up the meeting with the following statement, “DSI is a family owned business, and we believe that our employees and our vendors are part of that family. This event was planned with the intention of getting to know one another on a personal basis and expanding our many important relationships beyond the everyday phone calls and emails. I believe that we accomplished that goal.”
