Control4 Revamps Warranty Policy, Training, Marketing
Control4 announces new business policies, along with new online and regional training initiatives for dealers in 2012.
Control4 has announced enhanced business policies and support, regional and online training, and marketing programs for its global dealer network.
“We took a hard look at our programs, listened to our dealers, and identified several immediate ways to provide more efficient and precise support,” stated Martin Plaehn, Control4’s CEO and President. “Providing proactive recommendations and more immediate responsiveness to our dealers will lead to durable customer satisfaction.”
New Warranty and RMA Programs
Effective February 1, 2012, Control4 has enhanced its Standard Two-Year Product Warranty. Should a Control4 product fail in its second year according to the warranty, a factory reconditioned replacement will be provided immediately upon request. Previously, the second-year warranty only provided repair which incurred inbound shipping time, repair-time, and return shipping time. Dealers may select the outbound shipping method for the replacement product - weekday overnight, two-day, or standard delivery - to best match replacement installation timing for both the end-customer and the dealer. Additionally, Control4 has revised its Return Merchandize Authorization (RMA) policy to provide paid return freight for the warranteed product being replaced.
New Certified Drivers
Control4 has developed a new list of recommended networking equipment, featuring products (including international models) that have been tested by Control4 as well as used by many dealers in the field. Control4 will provide configuration files (where needed) and networking guidelines for these recommended products. Dealers using recommended networking equipment will receive Control4 technical support on networking topics.
Additionally, Control4 has certified nine new HDMI video switch products and drivers from Atlona and WyreStorm. A complete list of Control4 Certified devices can be found at http://www.control4.com/dealer/partners/certified.
Online, Global Education; Marketing
Control4 is bringing its training program to the web. The Control4 University will be launched at the end of February, providing dealers the opportunity to continue their technical and sales education online.
Control4 will be hitting the road with a 2012 Worldwide Dealer Tour, traveling to over 50 cities to provide in-depth, one-day training sessions. Topics will include new product overviews, light-commercial applications, troubleshooting, and Control4 MyHome application and 4Sight for mobile and remote access.
In conjunction with ISE, Control4 released the second issue of its lifestyle magazine, Home Smart Home. This Winter edition showcases installations from Control4 dealers around the world including: a ski chalet in Hakuba, Japan; a golf driving range that blends technology, entertainment and sport; a smart kitchen; and a stunning residence in Slovakia. Dealers and homeowners can download copies from the Control4 website, or order magazines for distribution from the Control4 Print Shop.
