CEA Names 2011 Mark of Excellence Winners

January gives us the Golden Globes, February brings the Grammys and the Oscars, and we can look forward to the ESPYs every summer and the Emmys each fall.

So how can we fill our awards fix void in the spring? The Consumer Electronics Association's TechHome Division manages to do that with its annual Mark of Excellence Awards that call attention to the most innovative products and installation projects across several categories and budget levels. A panel of industry veterans including installers, distributors, consultants and press members judged the entries.

This year the awards broke down into 13 product categories ranging from audio, video and control solutions to green, GUI and wireless devices. There were also 12 integration project categories, including multiple cost levels of custom whole-home and retrofit installations.
