B&W Ships ASW 610XP Subwoofer with 10-inch Driver
British speaker manufacturer calls “very long-throw” driver the ASW 610XP’s secret weapon.

08.29.2008 — Bowers & Wilkins has added the ASW 610XP subwoofer to its 600 Series speakers.

The British manufacturer will show the ASW 610XP at CEDIA Expo 2008 (booth 750).

The company calls the 10-inch driver the speaker’s secret weapon.

It’s “a very long-throw ‘ten’ with dual, high-current voice-coils and extremely strong paper/Kevlar cone,” B&W says.

It’s a pretty small subwoofer at 13-inches x 13-inches x 15-inches and is available in black ash, red cherry or vinyl-wood grain finishes.

The subwoofer also offers:
  • Flat response to 25 Hz (-3 dB)
  • Useful bass extension to 18 Hz (-6dB)
  • Class D design amp delivering 500 watts
  • Three-position EQ switching
  • Line-level RCA input
  • Speaker-level binding posts input
  • 12-volt on/off trigger
B&W used CEDIA 2007 as a launching pad for its 800 Series in-ceiling speakers.

The ASW 610XP is shipping now with an MSRP of $1,200.
