Behringer AirPlay System Combines New & Old Components
The Omni System from Behringer allows electronics professionals to combine legacy audio components with new wireless technologies.
The latest company to deliver innovation into the category is the professional audio company Behringer. The company’s new Omni system offers electronics professionals a choice of products that enables them to use their favorite legacy audio products or solutions from the Omni family of products to form a complete wireless audio system that employs Apple’s increasingly popular AirPlay technology.
Behringer’s Omni family of products includes the Omni Amp that connects traditional passive speakers to an Omni system and the Omni Link which is a line-level output receiver that includes open-air radio and AirPlay. Other products in the line include the Omni SP3i which is a three-way speaker system that is augmented with a 4-inch subwoofer, and the Omni SP5i three-way speaker system that is bolstered by a 6-inch subwoofer. The final product in the line is the Omni Sub and this product provides low-end support for the wireless system.
The product line is available in a choice of black or white, and Behringer says that installers can mix and match the products with active speakers and other legacy devices to form a complete multiroom audio system the complements their favorite Apple products, including the iPad and iPhone.
