B.M.C. Amp Circuit Eliminates the Need for Preamplification

The AMP M2 mono power amplifier from B.M.C. Audio employs a modular construction, as well as several proprietary circuit designs. B.M.C. says the amp produces 200 watts into 8 ohms and 380 4 ohms.


B.M.C. Audio is a German high-performance audio company that is distributed in the U.S. by Aaudio Imports. B.M.C’s latest product, the $7,990 AMP M2 monoblock amplifier is rated to deliver 200 watts into 8 ohms and 380 watts into 4 ohms.

The audio revival is in full swing and interest in audio components extends well beyond mass market headphones and Apple docking solutions and into the world of custom installation and specialty audio.

B.M.C. Audio is a German high-performance audio manufacturer whose product line is distributed in the U.S. by Aaudio Imports. One of the manufacturer’s latest products is the AMP M2 mono power amplifier which B.M.C. says provides audio enthusiasts with a solution that delivers the highest levels of sound purity. B.M.C. says the amplifier is rated to deliver 200 watts into an 8-ohm load, 380 watts into a 4-ohm load, and it includes connection options for RCA and XLR balanced inputs.

At the heart of the amplifier are three proprietary B.M.C. technologies. The first of the three technologies is B.M.C.‘s Digital Intelligent Gain Management (DIGM) technology which is a volume and amplification control that allows users to adjust their system’s left and right balances in 1dB increments. This technology works in tandem with the company’s companion DAC 1 digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and the German company says this combination eliminates the need for a preamplifier. The next exclusive technology built into the amp is B.M.C.‘s Load Effect Free (LEF) design that raises a speaker’s output by handling a speaker’s demand for current separately from its voltage demand. The final circuit design included in the amp is its CI technology which is said to increase signal purity by processing a signal source’s current until it meets the desired loudspeaker output voltage.

B.M.C. incorporates all of these technologies, as well as a regulated power supply; a 2-kW toridal transformer and balanced current capacitors into a modular chassis design. B.M.C. Audio wraps these technologies with external design elements that includes a centrally mounted power meter that is flanked by power and volume buttons.
