Sound Vision Technologies, the parent company of TruAudio and VSSL, which are global manufacturers of architectural, outdoor, commercial speakers and native streaming audio system amplifiers, announced the acquisition of Current Audio from SCP Distributors.
According to Sound Vision Technologies, the purchase will better serve Current Audio’s existing dealer and distribution network. Current Audio's co-founder, Ron Maurer, and vice president of sales, Rich Turner, will continue the oversight of the operational and sales efforts, and will complement Sound Vision Technologies' other audio brands.
“The two companies have shared a close relationship for many years and will use their core values to bring the best of each to the industry,” notes Ron Davies, CEO of Sound Vision Technologies.
The two companies will utilize Current Audio’s distribution channel to further expand Sound Vision’s product lines. Current Audio distributors and authorized dealers will have immediate access to Sound Vision Technologies’ complete product portfolio, including equipment racks, cooling fans, iPad mounting, and native streaming audio amplifiers.
Bryan Garner, president of Sound Vision Technologies, points out the newly acquired company's product line enhances the products that TruAudio and VSSL offer.
“Our acquisition of Current Audio complements our overall offerings and allows expansion through their distribution channels, adding exposure to VSSL, FORGE, Unified Copper, and Padimount, to better support A/V Integrators,” says Garner.
Structured Cable Products (SCP) acquired Current Audio in August 2016. Current Audio was founded in 2008 .

Sound Vision Technologies to Bolster its Logistical Support
With the acquisition, Sound Vision Technologies has immediate plans to increase its logistics locations to cover the West and East Coasts, as well as plans to create a new online ordering portal, and plans to expand its brands' customer service and tech departments to enhance and support Current Audio’s growing distribution channel.
Sound Vision Technologies designs and manufactures audio, equipment racks, bulk cable and powered electronics products. The company is headquartered in Hurricane, Utah with distributing locations in the Netherlands and Georgia.
Current Audio is located on the East Coast in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and it manufactures amplifiers, streaming amplifiers, soundbars, architectural speakers, control keypads and subwoofers.
