Russound Ultra Premium Wi-Fi Cable Puts the Wire Back in Wireless
The industry's first wired Wi-Fi solution provides flawless streaming for even the most bandwidth-intensive applications.
As streaming media continues to define the entertainment landscape, decisions between wired or wireless installs have become increasingly urgent for both integrators and consumers. Russound has attacked the problem head-on with the introduction of its breakthrough WIRE-FI-850 Ultra Premium Wi-Fi cable.
The product uses Russound’s proprietary new Wire-Fi technology that brings the power and performance of a wired connection to any wireless streaming setup.
Russound CEO Charlie Porritt was justly proud to announce the company’s latest innovation.
“We asked our customers what they miss most when installing new Wi-Fi products today and the answer was nearly unanimous. They miss the fun of lugging around large, heavy spools of cable, the challenges of drilling holes through beams in cramped attics or snake-invested crawlspaces and especially, the sweaty afternoons and evenings pulling heavy wire around multiple 90-degree bends," says Porritt.
"They long for the days of spending hours on a job site only to find out that after all of their efforts, the cable doesn’t test right and they have to start over again. Installers genuinely miss all that; we hear it consistently in all of our dealer surveys. We set out to solve the problem once and for all, and our team has done a remarkable job.”
WIRE-FI Works With Pro Grade Streamers
Russound’s WIRE-FI-850 Ultra Premium Wi-Fi cable was developed to bring back the full-on media experience of the old days, not just for integrators, but for end consumers as well.
The precision engineering behind this purpose-designed Wi-Fi cable yields effortless throughput and performance integrity that harkens back to the days before wireless.
The inconsistencies attributable to Wi-Fi dropouts or congestion have been completely eliminated in the new design. Russound’s WIRE-FI-850 Ultra Premium Wi-Fi cable combines better-than-Wi-Fi performance with the reliability of a wired connection.
The WIRE-FI-850 Ultra Premium Wi-Fi cable is a perfect accompaniment to Russound’s latest generation of professional grade streamers, the MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP.
Both units are dedicated to high-resolution music performance and installation flexibility, bringing wired and wireless versatility to the customer’s musical enjoyment, as well as fingertip control of their music through the easy-to-use Russound App.
Adding to the convenience of built-in, certified dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and mobile-friendly Bluetooth wireless connectivity, the Russound MBX-PRE and the MBX-AMP are also voice compatible with Alexa and with Google Home via built-in Chromecast.
Both provide streaming support for TIDAL, Deezer and any external audio routed through the built-in Chromecast. These services join Spotify, SiriusXM, SiriusXM for Business, TuneIn, vTuner, UPnP, and Apple AirPlay as broad listening options in the Russound streaming lineup.
With the WIRE-FI-850 Ultra Premium Wi-Fi cable joining Russound’s MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP streamers, decisions between wired and wireless installs now become simpler for the integrator.
“Just in case this Wi-Fi technology thing isn’t a fad and in case our installers ever really do get tired of hauling around big boxes of wire, we’re giving them options. We’ve incorporated fully certified dual-band 802.11ac technology into our latest MBX-Series. Both the MBX-PRE and MBX-AMP will work perfectly in any home, with or without the wire," says Porritt.
