DirecTV to Broadcast MLB Games in 4K Ultra HD
Following a successful broadcast of the Masters Tournament, DirecTV is planning on telecasting as many as 25 MLB games in 4K this season.
AT&T has announced that it is taking baseball fans "out to the ball game" all season long with MLB Network Showcase Games in 4K Ultra High Definition (Ultra HD). Starting this Friday, April 15, DirecTV 4K customers can tune into a live 4K broadcast of a Major League Baseball (MLB) game in the U.S.
“The 4K UHD experience on DirecTV will bring America’s pastime to life like never before in the convenience of the living room,” says Dan York, chief content officer, AT&T Entertainment Group. “As a leader in sports programming, we’re continuing to deliver more live events in 4K UHD and finding new ways to entertain our customers.”
The inaugural MLB Showcase game of the 2016 season will be the San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, and it will be called by MLB Network’s Bob Costas, Harold Reynolds, Tom Verducci and Sam Ryan. DirecTV says that it will air as many as 25 MLB Network Showcase games in 4K UHD. (For more schedule and game details click here.)
