All Signs Point to Green; It’s Time For Businesses to Seriously Invest in Energy Efficient Displays
AOC releases its newest energy efficient, LED monitor; the Ultra-Slim 2237Fwh
Freemont, CA — In today’s sluggish economy, businesses are looking to increase worker productivity, while cutting on overhead costs. Most government and independent entities agree that businesses can cut significant costs by reducing the amount of energy used in a normal working day. The simplest recommendation to enact for cutting back on such energy cost is to replace older energy-chugging displays with newer, more energy-efficient ones such as AOC’s Ultra-Slim 2237Fwh. The display has an MSRP of $219 and is available in Fry’s, Microcenter, TigerDirect and Ultimate Electronics.
The 2237Fwh is the latest Ultra-Slim design from AOC. It matches and surpasses its predecessor, the much-acclaimed V22 Verfino model, due in part to its LED technology. This 22-inch panel is LED-backlit, which helps to lower energy consumption while allowing for better image quality. The display boasts a 2,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, assuring the consumer rich, realistic color and dramatic depth of detail. Another energy efficient feature of the display is the iCare feature. iCare dims the light emanating from the display when the user steps away from it, when the user returns the light slowly increases. Thanks to these features, and partly to its Ultra-Slim frame, the 2237Fwh consumes less than half the power of a regular 22-inch LCD Monitor.
Photo Frame Design
The modern, ultra-slim photo frame design makes it suitable to all working environments. The 21.5-inch screen comes encased in a polished, white casing, which is itself surrounded by a transparent bezel frame that doubles as a support. From beneath the screen, an LED work light illuminates the transparent bezel stand, diffusing the light and providing sufficient light to work in low-lighting conditions. Employers are sure to see worker productivity increase thanks to the additional accent lighting and additional workspace.
The display comes with an HDMI with HDCP connection and is VESA DDC2B compatible for easy, plug and play connectivity. Like other AOC displays, the 2237Fwh was manufactured to meet stringent environmental standards. It received an EPEAT Silver certification and an EPA Energy Star Rating.
“Now is the time when businesses, government agencies, academic and non-profit institutions should look to invest in energy efficient appliances, like monitors and TVs. A small business with four or more displays running at once, 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week, can save a substantial amount of money by replacing those with a display like the 2237Fwh,” said Robert Velez, Marketing Manager, AOC North America.
