ZeeVee Shows Custom ZvBoxPLUS at CES 2009
ZvBoxPLUS adds component video input and looks exactly the same as the ZvBox.
We spotted ZeeVee's ZvBoxPLUS here at CES 2009, which is the company's custom version of the ZvBox.
The company says the major difference is that the ZvBoxPLUS has a component video input. ZvBoxPLUS looks exactly the same as the ZvBox and comes with the same ZvRemote.
ZeeVee says the addition of the component input was prompted at CEDIA Expo 2008 when integrators kept asking why component wasn't an option.
ZvBoxPLUS also has Zviewer, an Internet video browser that can be programmed to find episodes of specific TV shows.
The unit shares HD sources via coaxial cable and allows users to watch online content on all the TVs in the home. It also has VGA and USB inputs. It "localcasts" stored media from hard drives or network-attached storage (NAS) devices to up to any number of HDTVs in a home.
The ZvBoxPLUS will start shipping at the end of Q1 2009. ZeeVee hasn't determined pricing and is asking integrators for input.
