Yamaha RX-V3900 (top) and RX-V1900 A/V Receivers

08.26.2008 — Yamaha has introduced two next-generation 7.1-channel A/V receivers &mdash the RX-V3900 and RX-V1900.

The new receivers support HD Radio and are XM and Sirius Satellite Radio ready. Each receiver is compatible with iPods via the YDS-11 Universal Dock ($99.95).

Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer technology compensates for lost detail of audio compressed during the ripping process.

The optional YBA Yamaha Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver ($129.95) streams A2DP audio from mobiles devices and PCs to both receivers.

Both models also support these HD audio signals: Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio, as well as surround sound processing with Yamaha's Cinema DSP.

The RX-V3900 and RX-V1900 upconvert analog video sources with four HDMI inputs. The receivers have versatile control for up to three zones. They come with a RS-232C interface and a remote control.

Both have optional receiver managers and programmable dual 12-volt triggers.

Features exclusive to the RX-V3900 include:
  • iTunes tagging
  • Two HDMI inputs that can be employed simultaneously
  • Controllable via Web browser, PC, or PDA over a home network
  • Streaming of Internet radio (MP3 and WMA) and compatibility with Rhapsody
  • Compatible with Windows Vista and DLNA to play music files (WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC)
  • Front-panel USB port to connect portable audio devices
  • Anchor Bay Technology's ABT2010 chip to upscale video from 480i or 480p to resolutions up to 1080p
Yamaha's Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer simplifies setup by automatically analyzing room acoustics and setting parameters for optimum sound.

Sirius Internet Radio will be available in March 2009 via a software upgrade.

Yamaha recently introduced its BD-S2900 Blu-ray player, which feature interactive features including BonusView and Virtual Package.

Yamaha will be exhibiting at CEDIA Expo 2008 at booth 450.

MSRP

RX-V1900 is $1,399.95
