Over the past few weeks, we have been telling you about CEProLIVE!, the first online learning event for the custom electronics industry. But we have been asked, “What exactly is an online learning event? What does a virtual event mean?”

We wanted to answer your questions to make sure you have all the information you need so you don’t miss out on this unique one-day learning opportunity.

What: CEProLIVE! is a new event bringing CE Pro to life with sessions on 3D, HDMI, Home Health Tech, Smart Energy Management, Commercial Markets, and Recurring Revenue Opportunities. Paired with business management sessions, CEProLIVE! is a way for CE Pros to learn more and do more - with no travel expense, no lost travel time and free registration.

How is an online event different from a live event? An online event is just like a live tradeshow or conference, minus the travel and expenses. Once attendees log on their computers, they can create avatars (the virtual “you” for the event), and begin navigating their way through the Exhibit Hall, Auditorium, Networking Lounge, and Resource Center. How can I see products in the Virtual Exhibit Hall? Once attendees enter the Exhibit Hall, they will be able to scroll across to find the exhibitors they are looking for. They can simply click on exhibitor booths to view videos, download product information, and enter themselves for product giveaways. Once they are inside the booth, they can chat in real-time with the manufacturers via instant message. Or if they prefer, leave a message to be contacted, all while avoiding the crowds of a live event and receiving personalized attention from the manufacturers.

Where can I find the Conference Sessions? Feature Presentations and Better Business Management Sessions are held in the Auditorium, where attendees can watch and learn from rich-media webcasts – live and on demand. Topics range from 3D and iPad to HDMI, recurring revenue strategies to home health technology, smart energy to job costing strategies, and companion selling to web marketing. Plus, CE Pro editor Jason Knott’s will deliver his compelling keynote, “State of the Industry 2010," at 11:00am EDT.

How can I network with my peers, speakers, and exhibitors? Attendees are encouraged to stop by the Networking Lounge, sponsored by Sony, to make new business contacts, chat with their peers, and participate in scheduled chats. By clicking on fellow avatars, they can engage in one-on-one instant message conversations, participate in group chats, and swap virtual business cards to expand their networks.
