VizionWare Joins Effort to Establish DPL Ranking System
Revolutionary Active Hi-Wirez Technology Will Be One of First to Receive New DPL Ranking
PRESS RELEASE
AUSTIN, TX – September 7, 2007 – VizionWare, the Texas-based signal management and signal conditioning company, today announced they are joining In-Visions Technology's new Digital Performance Level (DPL) rating program.
The DPL Ranking System is designed specifically to provide manufactures, customers, and retailers a system to judge the level of performance for each HDMI product's potential by way of comparison with the HDMI compliance minimums.
"As the leading provider of next generation digital interconnect products, VizionWare early on recognized the need for a standard of HDMI compliance so vendors and consumers know a product's HDMI cables will actually perform as stated," according to Ben Jamison, vice president of sales and marketing for VizionWare. "We're proud to be one of the first companies to sign on for the DPL Ranking System so, once again, our customers will know that VizionWare products always mean quality."
The DPL Ranking System's goal is to rank HDMI cables on a scale of 1 to 5, based on how the cables perform on a series of tests that determine how well the cable performs. After five to six hours of testing, each cable is assigned a number rating that begins at level 1 to a maximum performance level of 5. Level 1 would equate to the HDMI™ minimum compliance standards.
The rating system, which was announced last month, is the concept of Jeff Boccaccio, who heads InVisions Technology.
"By joining the new DPL Ranking System, VizionWare has demonstrated they are clearly one of the leaders in this business," said Boccaccio. "By agreeing to undergo DPL testing, VizionWare is raising the bar for everybody in this industry, since they're one of the major players. It also provides some impetus for other manufacturers to get on board who may just be thinking about joining the DPL Ranking System."
VizionWare has submitted its new Hi-Wirez 1650 Series HDMI interconnects for DPL testing and plans to submit all VizionWare's products for DPL ratings.
