URC Welcomes 23 Members to Complete Control Partner Program
The program, now with 41 manufacturers, assures URC dealers that third-party products will work with URC controllers.
HARRISON, N.Y. — Universal Remote Control (URC), the pioneer in control technology, today announced the signing of 23 new manufacturer partners to its Complete Control Partner Program (CCPP).
The new partners are Anthem, Planar Systems/Runco, Rotel, Pioneer, Escient, Crowson Technology, Cooper Wiring Devices, InFocus, Yamaha, Kaleidescape, Envive, Audio Authority, Epson America, Russound, Autonomic Controls, ReQuest, Life|ware, Somfy Systems, Control4, NetStreams, Cyron Lighting, tripleBsoftware and ZeeVee.
CCPP ensures seamless integration and full functionality of partner manufacturers' products in a custom URC automation solution. As a result of CCPP, URC dealers have an even easier time setting up home entertainment and automation systems for activity-based controls ("Watch a DVD," for example) that involve simultaneous control of multiple and diverse products.
CCPP members commit to providing URC and its dealers the latest control codes from their newest products, ensuring accurate and reliable control of their devices. In return, URC provides members advice, direction, feedback and testing.CCPP products are guaranteed to work with all current and future URC control devices.
"CCPP is providing URC dealers with reliable, seamless integration and interoperability across a wide variety of the industry's finest consumer electronics products," said Mitchell Klein, URC's director of business development, and the coordinator of CCPP. "Participating manufacturers can further demonstrate their commitment to the custom installation and integration channel through this program."
The CCPP membership comprises a powerful coalition of manufacturers from many diverse markets. The program kicked off in June 2008 with 18 influential charter members: Anchor Bay Technologies, AudioControl, Audio Design Associates (ADA), Classé Audio, CentraLite Systems, Denon, Hitachi, Integra, Key Digital, Lutron, Marantz, NuVision, Onkyo, Sharp, Sony, Sooloos, Sunfire and VUDU.
Twelve of the current CCPP partners—Denon, Lutron, Escient, Kaleidescape, Envive, Russound, Autonomic, ReQuest, Life|ware, Control4, NetStreams and tripleBsoftware—additionally are CCPP Platinum Partners. These companies can take control to a new level by developing two-way modules to their products for easy implementation with URC's WiFi controllers, such as the MX-6000 Touch Screen.
As a result, metadata, cover art and graphics, as well as status feedback on volume, inputs and more, can be relayed directly from the partner product to the URC controller via IP.
URC encourages additional manufacturers to get involved in the program. Those interested in more information or membership applications are encouraged to contact URC's Mitchell Klein at (617) 243-0088 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). CCPP members can promote their participation in the program by using the CCPP logo in their marketing materials.
