Depending on its configuration Theta’s new Casablanca III HD pre/pro will range in cost from approximately $15,000 to $20,000.

For much of the 1990s Theta Digital ranked among the most desirable audiophile manufacturers in the entire hobbyist world.

Fast forward to 2011 and the brand through the leadership of Amplifier Technologies Inc. (ATI) is back and its ready to take a technology leadership position in the home theater category with the release of its Casablanca III HD preamplifier/processor.

The original Casablanca pre/pro was released about 15 years ago and the new Casablanca III HD builds upon the original's foundation and adds a list of state-of-the-art features that includes Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio HD lossless surround-sound processing, four HDMI 1.4 inputs and up to 12 output channels with the company's Xtreme D-2 digital-to-analog converters (DACs).

In addition, Theta is offering previous generation Casablanca III owners the opportunity to upgrade the pre/pro units to Casablanca III HD levels with three new circuit boards, a new power supply and new operating system for $5,000. The other client program the company is offering is a trade-in allowance initiative that rewards Casablanca I and II owners up to $5,000 towards the purchase of a new Casablanca III HD pre/pro.
