The Ultimate Guide to Projector Mounts

An overview of projector mounts and lifts, providing key data and resources to assist integrators in choosing products for their companies.

As integrators continue to meet clients' desires for bigger video displays, it only makes sense that front projection will continue to pick up steam in the market.

The category has already been given boosts by the advent of easy-to-configure, single-gun digital projectors and the trend toward smaller, lighter-weight projectors that eliminate the need for separate projection rooms.

Moreover, multipurpose great rooms are well suited for wall- and ceiling-mounted projectors.

No homeowner wants to put a table in the middle of their great room to accommodate a projector, making the room look more like a corporate boardroom than a family room.

So, as all those trends converge, integrators are mounting more projectors than ever before. As with flat panel mounts, projector mounts can be a high-margin category for integrators. That's why proper selection is vital.

To reduce the time you spend leafing through online spec sheets, CE Pro has put together this quick reference guide from a handful of manufacturers. Use this all-in-one-place resource as a reference throughout the year.

The guide is not comprehensive, but represents some of the major brands on the market today.

The Chief RPA Elite is by far the best projector mount I have ever used. It is so easy to get the projector aligned with this bracket that I just can’t imagine why anyone would ever use anything else.

Have you tried the next generation of the RPA called RPA Elite(RPM model number)?  The product has micro-adjust Roll, Pitch and Yaw and will save you even more time during installation.

I should have read your post more closely!  You already know how sweet it is.

Glad you caught that Seth, or I was going to have to smack you. j/k The micro-adjust is just too cool. The only people who don’t use it must be the ones who don’t know about it. Too bad for their installers…

The crappy, under-exposed picture in the slideshow doesn’t do it justice either, it just looks like a black blob. It’s actually a nice looking mount. Chief needs to get their PR department in check.
