Thank Goodness for Allen Wrenches!
My messy Allen wrench collection.
Thank goodness we’ve purchased many pieces of Swedish furniture at IKEA over the years, because when I retrieved my toolbox, it was a mess. The box had one nice set of Allen wrenches in a plastic case that I likely bought at Home Depot many years ago, and a jumbled mess of individual wrenches.
To secure the D-Box unit, it meant pulling every one out individually and testing it in the screw head. The frustrating part about these L-shaped tools is that unlike open-ended or closed-ended wrenches, there are no size indicators etched into them.
I have duplicates of duplicates, but I don’t dare throw any of them away! In the end, my toolbox contained 41 different Allen wrenches.
The D-Box setup got me thinking: do your techs carry a set of Allen wrenches? Are there other necessary tools that are just as frustrating?

Slow day, eh?
Think of this blog as your entertainment for the day. Now you won’t have to watch “The View”.
The real problem seems to be that the D-Box needs to ship with the Allen wrenches.

Wow what a serious article. Coming from the alarm sect I don’t expect much from you in installing ‘custom’ AV.
Not all of your items are Allen wrenches. Look closer.
A REAL installer has the proper set as well as all the cheap ones that come with items we install. A proper set had both english and metric too.
