10.06.2008 — SpeakerCraft is launching its
NEAT 3 speaker, saying it "will almost disappear into the ceiling" with its small footprint and no exterior bezel.
The NEAT 3 features a 3-inch full-range driver and a 1-inch silk dome pivoting tweeter. It also has an impedance of 8 ohms, a frequency response of 80Hz - 16kHz and is designed to "mimic the look of a miniature can light."
"Looking at the popularity of small flush-mounted spotlights inspired us to design a loudspeaker to match," says SpeakerCraft CEO Jeremy Burkhardt.
"We know that homeowners prefer speakers that are less conspicuous and the NEAT 3 is just that."
It has the same install process as the other NEAT speakers, using a two-piece bracket that snaps together inside the wall and is secured with drywall screws.
The NEAT 3 features a 5.125-inch diameter and a depth of two inches. SpeakerCraft says only the grill will be exposed after finished paint.
SpeakerCraft did not release pricing or availability. The NEAT 3, however, is listed under 2009 Products on SpeakerCraft's
Web site.
