02.12.2008 — Osterville, MA.—Savant Systems LLC, with a visionary approach to home automation that emphasizes reliability and a maintenance-friendly open platform, has announced the appointment of Electrical Materials, Inc. as an independent representative for the state of Michigan.

Electrical Materials, Inc employs 19 people and maintains two locations including a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse/office and training facility in Sterling Heights, MI. The Integrated Systems division was founded 12 years ago and is managed by David Laikind; “Our dealers have been asking for an easier way to fulfill the needs of their clients in the control and automation category,” explained Laikind. “We have been keeping an eye on Savant Systems for over a year now, after viewing the technology at CEDIA Expo. We particularly like the Linux-based operating system, the Mac-based user interface, and Savant’s maintenance-friendly open architecture,” Laikind added. “Additionally, Savant’s suite of products are a nice fit with the other manufacturers that we represent in the category, such as Lutron, Bryston, and the Planar Group,” concluded Laikind.

“We are excited to have representation in Michigan with the resources and high level professionalism for which Electrical Materials, Inc has come to be known in the territory,” stated Savant president Jim Carroll. “We anticipate building fertile relationships with top dealers in the region and look forward to providing the products and resources necessary to support David and his team.”
