RTI Processor Adds More Power & Expansion Options
RTI says that installers can use its new XP-8 remote control process for complex, large scale installations.
The company’s latest product release is the XP-8 remote control processor, and according to the company, this new processor builds on the previous generation product it replaces by adding more processing power and more non-volatile flash memory.
“The XP-8 processor has been one of RTI’s most popular products and [it] lies at the heart of countless controls systems of all sizes and complexities around the world. With the XP-8s [the new generation], we are taking its performance to the next level,” says Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing, Remote Technologies Incorporated. “For integrators in both residential and commercial installations, harnessing the XP-8s’ advanced control options and extra power opens the door to larger products.”
RTI explains the latest generation XP-8 processor is engineered for large scale, complex control jobs through the implementation of a 532MHz i.MX processor, 128MBs of flash memory and a 4GB SD card to provide additional storage capabilities. Other features built into the remote control processor include eight RS-232 ports, IR ports, built-in relays and sensing inputs. Additionally, the company also incorporates an Ethernet port that supports RTI’s RTiPanel technologies, as well as IP options for whole-house/property control of systems that include lighting, A/V and HVAC from anywhere in the world.
