Qsonix, Wadia Digital Join Forces
Wadia will take over the management and sales of Qsonix.
Qsonix and Wadia Digital, Inc. have entered into a partnership, saying the collaboration will take advantage of their respective technological synergies, as well as Wadia’s worldwide sales and marketing network.
Wadia has built a reputation as a high-performance manufacturer of digital audio components in the two-channel market. Qsonix is a relatively new manufacturer of digital music management systems for the custom installation market.
As part of the new Qsonix/Wadia relationship, Wadia will handle the day-to-day sales management, order logistics and customer support for Qsonix sales worldwide. Qsonix will continue manufacturing, shipping and providing technical support from its Newbury Park, Calif. offices.
The companies also say Wadia Digital audio technologies will be built into future generations of Qsonix music management systems. In addition, the companies say that other future product developments will build on a strong foothold in the Apple accessory category where Wadia has developed several highly regarded digitally based iPod docking solutions.
"The entire team is excited about maximizing the possibilities of our alliance with Qsonix," says John W. Schaffer, president of Wadia Digital, Inc. "Naturally, we're extremely pleased to include Qsonix music management systems with our offerings. But stay tuned - our shared, deep passion for high-end performance reproduction and performance audio puts us genuinely in sync and is our springboard to more great ideas and products."
Oscar Ciornei, CEO of Qsonix, will step down from his management position effective June 30, 2010. Ciomei will return to full-time leadership of his company, The OAC Group, where he will remain an adviser to Qsonix. The OAC Group is a management, marketing and design firm that works exclusively in the consumer electronics, pro audio and music industry.
