Handles 90 watts of power and can be mounted on a wall, fence or post.
07.23.2008 — Proficient Audio is introducing its AW8070V outdoor speaker that is designed to use with 70-volt audio systems.
The AW8070V enables a single amplifier to power a group of speakers. It also allows speakers to be "daisy-chained" or connected to each other without running a cable from each speaker to the amp.
"It lets you run speaker cables practically as long as you want, attach as many speakers as you need, and power the whole system with a single 70-volt amplifier, so it eliminates most of the problems of using conventional audio gear in large backyards and estates," says Proficient Audio president Keith Marshall.
The speaker handles up to 90 watts of power with sensitivity of 89dB and has a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz.
It has two 1.25-inch aluminum-dome tweeters that pivot to direct audio and an 8-inch polypropylene-cone woofer.
AW8070V has a weather-resistant ABS cabinet, a powder-coated perforated grille and a tilting bracket that secures it to a wall, eave, fence, or post.
A tap switch allows the installer to adjust the audio level to four settings: 8, 16, 32 and 64 watts. There's also a 4-ohm transformer bypass setting.
The AW8070V is available in black or white for $435 each.
