Pro Control iOS App Provides Complete Control
With the new ProLink.r control processor iOS app users can conveniently access and control their lighting, A/V, shades, door locks and other electronics systems.
Since the introduction of the iPhone and later, the development of the Android platform, the control and automation market has moved quickly to adopt smart phones and tablets like the iPad as user interface devices. The Minn.-based company Pro Control has augmented its line of control solutions through the release of its Apple iOS control app.
The newly released ProPanel app is said to provide users a convenient and easy way to control their A/V systems, shades, door locks and other electronics systems.
“The ProPanel app has become a very popular complementary solutions to our product line-up, offering programming simplicity for dealers and unmatched control for end users,” boasts Mike Everett, general manager for Pro Control. “In bringing this powerful functionality to our ProLink.r, we’re allowing dealers to offer affordable and powerful iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch control for any system utilizing a Pro Control processor. By offering compatibility with both of our control processors, we are breaking through the traditional price barriers for this type of robust, professionally installed system and offering powerful control options for a wide range of budgets.”
Pro Control says the app features an auto programming mechanism that expedites the setup process, and dealers can customize the app through the use of its Pro Control Studio software. Other features incorporated into the app include high-resolution graphics that are compatible with the newest generation iPad’s Retina display; portrait and landscape viewing modes, local connectivity via Wi-Fi, and LAN control. Authorized installation professionals can also remotely access their installed system for updates and other requirements, and the app supports auto switching between wireless and 3G for complete network connectivity.
The app is now available at the iTunes App Store, and Pro Control points out that dealers will need to purchase licenses from their distributors or online from the Pro Control Studio software to enable communication with its Pro Control hardware products.
