SpeakerCraft is bringing out three new in-wall subwoofers under the Cinema brand, and the company says it has the technology down.

"Talk about something that's been difficult to produce -- an in-wall subwoofer that has oomph!" says vice president of marketing Dave Donald."

He credits Tom Lee, SpeakerCraft's principal loudspeaker engineer, for designing the high-performance, low-intrusion subs. "He spent a great deal of time designing the drivers, changing the angles of the cone, changing the suspension system, designing the cabinets, …" Donald notes.

The new Cinema subs will be available in 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch versions. Dedicated amplifiers with 150, 200 and 250 watts of power are optimized to drive the three sub models and are standard shelf-mount components to be place with the source equipment.

Prices range from $750 to $1,500.
