Screen Innovations is making the task of picking screen material for projectors a little less daunting with its Screen Wizard projector screen selection tool.

The Screen Wizard provides an educational platform for users to select the optimal screen and screen material based on a number of parameters including: screen ratio (16:9, 4:3; 2.35:1), room light level, projector specifications (lumens and contrast ratio) and screen size.

"SI's Screen Wizard guides the user through selecting the correct screen material based on the room's lighting, projector's specifications, screen ratio, and screen size," explains Aaron Reilly, SI CTO.

"Each of these variables is computed by the wizard to help customers and salespeople achieve the ultimate picture quality based on SMPTE standards."

The Screen Wizard then provides users with a list of recommended screens, and will rate the recommended combinations on a Poor, Acceptable, Good, or Excellent performance scale.

"Unfortunately, many sales people are under educated at pairing the correct projector and screen," adds Reilly.

"They often spec them separately, or sell one if the customer already owns the other, but don't take adequate steps to insure optimal combined performance within the viewing environment.
