Philips is introducing a 52-inch 3D display that is designed for use in digital signage, pro-A/V and entertainment solutions.
The 3D Display is based on a full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) LCD and offers full brightness, full contrast (2,000:1) and a response time of 8 ms.
The coolest part: you don't need those funky 3D glasses you used to wear as a kid. The 3D Display has WOWvx technology with the 2D-plus-Depth format, which gives additional occlusion information for a 3D 'look around' effect.
"With our new 52-inch 3D display in the portfolio, we can offer the pro-AV and digital signage market an even higher degree of immersion and a more exciting 3D viewing experience," says Philips 3D Solutions CEO Jos Swillens.
Philips will showcase the 3D display at its booth (C1519) at InfoComm 2008 from June 18-20 in Las Vegas.
Philips says the 3D Display will ship in Q4 2008. There's no word on pricing.
