A new dealer program,
Security Solutions and Services Inc. (SS&Si), has launched to help A/V integrators move into the security industry.
Based in Deltona, Fla., the group is the brainchild of the Voll family: dad George (CEO) and sons Jake (director of sales and marketing) and Justin (director of operations). They have been running a security consulting business since 1998.
“The security industry is thriving right now,” says Jake. “We need guys in the A/V integration industry to get into the security industry because their participation will help advance the technology and the industry even more.”
He cited, in particular, IP video as a perfect synergy between the custom and security markets. “A lot of A/V integrators aren’t excited about getting into the alarm portion of the business, but they are excited about IP video," Jake says. "And even CCTV offers opportunities for integrators to get a taste of recurring monthly revenue via maintenance agreements or remote monitoring."
So what makes this new program different from other security-based programs like PSA Network or A/V-based buying groups like HTSA, HES, PRO Group or SEN? SS&Si, which sports 150 members, is touting full consultation services and marketing assistance for A/V integrators to reach security clients.
SS&Si offers for-fee marketing and operational assistance, including social media strategies. It also has product discounts from 5 percent to 15 percent, depending on the manufacturer and the purchase amount. Other services include partnership programs that allow members to assist each other on projects. Jake cited one instance where a Florida integrator partnered with another member in Colorado to do a second-home project for his client.
There is no buy-in fee to be part of the program. Participating vendors include

Honeywell,
System Sensor, and
Speco.
