LG's new BD300 Blu-ray Network Blu-ray Disc Player will stream Netflix movies in the U.S. in September.

The BD300 allows users, who are also Netflix subscribers, to stream more than 12,000 movies and TV episodes on the player at no additional cost than the Netflix subscription fee.

The movie begins playing in about 30 seconds after it is selected from the Netflix Web site. The BD300's remote control offers complete control of the Netflix movies, which will be shown in standard definition.

The BD300 also supports BD Live and LG's SimpLink technology, which will allow the BD300 to integrate with any LG TV and A/V product.

The Blu-ray player also upconverts DVDs to 1080p, and BonusView provides picture-in-picture access to special features.

LG and Netflix announced plans for the collaboration in January. The BD300 will be demonstrated for the first time at LG's 2008 Summer Line Show in New York.

"As Blu-ray player sales [are] expected to triple in three years, consumers are craving content and seeking a premium home entertainment experience,” said LG Electronics USA president Teddy Hwang.

The Entertainment Merchant Association says Blu-ray will outsell DVD in 2012.

LG says the BD300 will cost "well under $500."
