Home Automation Inc. (HAI), a popular developer of home control systems for the mass market, has launched a developer support program for those who want to build software modules for HAI's thermostats and automation systems.

The program will include a Website and online developer forum.

"Before, we kind of offered it on paper," says CEO Jay McLellan. "This makes the task of developing for HAI easier."

With the new tools, McLellan adds, developers can query HAI products for "much more high-level information."

After being accepted into the program, developers will have access to:
  • HAI programming protocols for serial and Ethernet connections
  • Software Development Kit (SDK), documentation, and examples
  • Advanced access to HAI downloads, including installation manuals and high-resolution logos and product images
  • Dealer-level access to the HAI Knowledge Base

Interested Developers register for the program by filling out the online application form available on the public website. Applications will be reviewed and approved by Scott Dudoussat, HAI Director of Technical Services, within two business days.
