In a move to improve its efficiency, D&M Holdings has folded Snell Acoustics into its McIntosh operation.

D&M says the companies will remain separate brands within the marketplace, they will operate more efficiently by sharing resources.

“D&M Holdings has announced that it has taken steps to integrate the operations of two of its premium brands, McIntosh Laboratory and Snell Acoustics," the company says in a statement.

"While the brands will remain distinct in the marketplace, both companies will benefit from an advantageous cross-pollination of engineering, product design and marketing strategies.

“In order to smoothly integrate the manufacturing operations of both companies, D&M Holdings is in the process of building a dedicated state-of-the-art facility for Snell on the McIntosh campus in Binghamton, N.Y.

"As both companies specialize in ultra-luxury, hand-assembled, precision-crafted products, Snell is a perfect fit for the existing McIntosh infrastructure, and the integration will allow both companies to maintain the integrity and value of their respective brands.”

D&M adds that McIntosh president Charlie Randall will run Snell, and Bob Graffy, brand manager for Snell, will remain with the company and report to Randall.
