Paradigm Marks 30th Anniversary with Tribute Loudspeaker

Paradigm is celebrating its 30 years in business with the release of several new products that are highlighted by the floorstanding Tribute loudspeaker.

Paradigm says its five-driver, three-way 30th Anniversary Series Tribute loudspeaker will carry an estimated MSRP of $2,999 each.

At one time the Canadian contingent of the consumer electronics industry were overlooked in favor of their peers from large American cities such as Boston, New York and Los Angeles. However, over the past 30 years, the Toronto-based audio manufacturer Paradigm has contributed many innovative and successful products to the market which has raised the profile of Canadian manufacturers amongst the audiophile crowd. Today through the efforts of companies like Paradigm, the Canadian audio community rivals their American counterparts.

Recently the Canadian manufacturer Marked its 30 years in business by introducing its 30th Anniversary Series of products. Highlighting this limited run series of products is the floorstanding Tribute loudspeaker which is a five-driver, three-way loudspeaker that was designed, manufactured and hand finished in the company’s Toronto facilities. “This limited edition series highlights the brand, [it] showcases what we’ve learned and celebrates our staying power in an industry that has seen so many specialty audio manufacturers fall by the wayside. Thirty years ago were were working in a modest little space, today we have a 225,000-square foot Canadian factory, an onsite 36,000-cubic foot anechoic chamber, a Research and Development Center (PARC) in Ottawa and we’re still making speakers right here at home,” says Mark Aling, senior director of marketing, Paradigm.

“The series [30th Anniversary] is a way of saying thank you to the legion of faithful Paradigm dealers, distributors and their customers across the globe, many of who have been with us since the beginning.  We’ve never been an elitist brand; we’re about opening people’s eyes to the incredible emotion stirred by true high fidelity with the onus firmly entrenched in affordability. Here’s to another 30 years!”

As part of the special attention the limited edition speakers will get, Paradigm says the speakers will be manufactured in left/right matching pairs and they will be tested to meet the same standards as its Reference series of products. The Tribute’s driver array will utilize Paradigm’s pure-beryllium (P-Be) tweeter that it says possesses exceptional thermal and mechanical properties. The speaker’s midrange drivers will employ an over-molded corrugated surround technology to help the units produce articulate low frequencies. The driver cones will also feature updated cone cosmetics that include black anodized cones with electro-plated , injection-molded phase-coherent dust caps.

In total, the Tribute floorstanding loudspeaker will feature three 7-inch mineral-filled polypropylene bass drivers, along with a 7-inch black anodized pure-aluminum midrange driver and a single 1-inch P-Be tweeter.
