Add Panasonic to the growing list of companies investing in Zensys, the manufacturer of Z-Wave wireless home control technology.

Panasonic today joined Intel Capital, Cisco, Bessemer Venture Partners, Palamon Capital Partners and Sunstone Capital as investors of Zensys, Zensys announced.

Large manufacturers with infrared limitations are looking to Z-Wave as an IR replacement for remote controls.

"Panasonic looks forward to working with Zensys to help consumers enjoy the benefits of the 'smart home of the future' today," says Dr. Paul Liao, Chief

Technology Officer, Panasonic Corporation of North America.

Z-Wave will still be used for wireless home control and automation products.
