Pakedge Devices PDU-RM8 Modem/Power Distribution Unit
With the PDU-RM8 Modem/Power Distribution Unit from Pakedge, installers can remote power cycle, monitor and configure their clients' home networks and the devices that support those networks.
The 1U PDU-RM8 from Pakedge features a browser-based GUI that provides the ability to configure, monitor and power cycle devices like modems, routers and switches.
There's no question that the audio/video industry is smack in the middle of a revolution. Americans are migrating to larger and more robust home networks to support their computing needs, as well as their growing streaming media and download activities.
With this increased demand on homeowners' networks, it's now important to build in provisions to properly protect and manage devices that not only reside on the network, but also the devices that support the network. Pakedge Device's new PDU-RM8 Modem/Power Distribution Unit is one such network management/protection device. The company's latest product is said to enable installers to remotely control the power of as many as eight devices, including modems and routers to ensure that power sensitive components are powered back up in the proper sequence.
Pakedge has designed the PDU-RM8 to install quickly with design provisions that include pre-labeled RJ-45 Ethernet inputs for modems, routers and switches. To facilitate its remote capabilities the company also builds in a secure, browser-based GUI to enable electronics professionals to remotely configure, monitor and power cycle their clients' individual devices and systems.
