Outdoor Living Pavilion Takes Shape at EHX Fall
Among the more anticipated show floor stops is EHX's inaugral Outdoor Living Spotlight area.
Working feverishly to set up the Outdoor Living Spotlight area, Michael Vetrovec reflected on the ambitious designs for EHX’s inaugural dedicated outdoor show floor area.
His company, IDOD Designs, was enlisted to design a space for EHX exhibitors, including itself, to demonstrate outdoor products in a natural habitat, of sorts. IDOD, which manufacturers a line of outdoor-friendly audio/video accessories, designs outdoor spaces for its integrator clients.
Vetrovec aimed to dazzle EHX attendees by including a waterfall in the Outdoor Living Spotlight area. That isn’t going to happen, Vetrovec says, acknowledging that it was a lofty goal given the short amount of time he had to pull together the outdoor zone.
“We probably have about 80 percent of our ambitious goal,” he says, referring to the virtual outdoor surprises IDOD was able to include. He says the 80 percent will be more than enough to provide a backdrop for discussions of how outdoor technology is a great way for installers to diversify their offerings.
Even in the early setup stages, there is definitely a lot of greenery under the large Outdoor Living Spotlight sign. It already stands out on the show floor. It will be interesting tomorrow to see IDOD’s final product.
