Onkyo Unveils 2 Receivers and 2 HTiBs
Receivers offer THX Loudness Plus and have multiple HDMI 1.3a inputs.
Onkyo, as part of its mid-year product announcements, is unveiling two THX certified home theater receivers and two home-theater-in-a-box systems (HTiBs).
The Onkyo TX-SR806 and TX-SR706 receivers are THX Ultra2 Plus and Select2 Plus certified, respectively, and include THX Loudness Plus audio processing.
The Onkyo TX-SR806 and TX-SR706 offer 130 watts per channel, have five and four HDMI 1.3a repeater inputs, respectively, and Faroudja DCDi video processing that upscales to 1080p. The TX-SR806 also upconverts to 1080i.
Both receivers have an AM/FM radio tuner with connections for both XM and Sirius satellite radio.
For integration with whole-house control systems, the receivers include bi-directional RS-232 ports and RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI).
Other features include: Audyssey room acoustics correction and Dynamic EQ and Onkyo's Music Optimizer.
The HTiBs include the HT-S7100 and HT-S6100, each consisting of a 130-watt-per-channel receiver, seven-channel loudspeaker system, powered subwoofer and an iPod dock.
The system receivers have four HDMI inputs with video upscaling to 1080i. Audio processing includes DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, Audyssey 2EQ room acoustics correction, and Audyssey Dynamic EQ loudness correction.
The HT-S7100 includes two speaker stands.
Onkyo's TX-SR706 ($899) is available now, while the TX-SR806 ($1,099) will ship in August.
The HT-S7100 ($899) and HT-S6100 ($799) are also available now.
