Due to some problems with manufacturing equipment, Mitsubishi was recently forced to stop production of its LaserVue TVs.

The $6,999 LaserVue hit the market with a lot of hype back in October. The company says the energy-efficient unit boasts two times the color of most HDTVs — all while using less power.

Other features include:
  • 1080p image
  • Smooth 120Hz technology, x.v. Color
  • 3D-ready viewing capabilities
  • 10-inches thin
Here's the official statement:

"MDEA has temporarily suspended production of LASERVUE televisions due to a problem with manufacturing equipment used to produce LASERVUE TVs. Mitsubishi Electric engineers are taking the necessary action to ensure that we resume production as quickly as possible, while maintaining the highest standards for product quality and reliability. MDEA expects that production should resume by early 2009."

Mitsubishi isn't anticipating any supply issues, according to Engadget HD.
