Meridian Extends SpeakerLink Technology, Adds AC11 Hub
Single cable connectivity solution employs RJ-45 to enable installers to link just about any Meridian component.
Meridian Audio has extended its SpeakerLink single-cable input/output communications protocol to its flagship DSP8000 Digital Active Loudspeaker.
The company also introduced the AC11 Component Interlink Hub, an installation accessory that allows earlier Meridian components, including processors, disc players and digital loudspeakers, to integrate with the SpeakerLink system.
SpeakerLink employs RJ-45 Ethernet-style twisted-pair network cabling to make all digital audio, communications and control interconnections between Meridian components.
Installers who use SpeakerLink can conceal the single wire connected between Meridian's DSP loudspeakers and audio processors or A/V sources.
"The AC11 makes integrating legacy models seamless, while the changeover of the DSP8000 signals our unreserved commitment to this superior new technology," says Bob Stuart, co-founder, chairman and CTO of Meridian Audio.
The AC11 also features:
