Luxul says that its XAP-1030 WAP increases a wireless network’s coverage by as much as 10 times is previous range and its throughput by as much as 400 percent.

There are many ways to network a home or small business today, but the most popular way to provide connectivity remains wireless technologies. Luxul's new XAP-1030 wireless access point is the latest product addition to its Xen series of networking components and the new wireless access point (WAP) is said to deliver 10 times the power and as much as 400 percent more throughput than standard consumer-level Wi-Fi products.

Luxul says the product can be used in a residential or small-business type of environment and it is engineered to provide omnidirectional 802.11n Wi-Fi coverage. The Lindon, Utah-based company says that the WAP is manufactured with a slim profile and sturdy metal chassis to support installers' ability to unobtrusively mount the device on a wall or ceiling. Supporting the company's coverage and throughput claims is the inclusion of Luxul's proprietary Xen3D technology, which it says enables its broad connectivity.

The unit also features a single Ethernet input with that simplifies the installation process. The single port features the ability to carry data and power, and once connected the device sets up through the use of Luxul's Web-based XenSmart user interface.
