Kaleidescape iPad App, 2.35 Interface Shown at CEDIA Expo
Kaleidescape announced its App for iPad and a software update at CEDIA Expo 2011, both of which will be available in Q4 2011.
Kaleidescape introduced its iPad app at CEDIA Expo 2011, giving clients a new way to browse and control movies on Kaleidescape systems.
The Kaleidescape App for iPad (see video below), which will be available for free in Q4 2011, can browse through a movie collection without interrupting playback. Users can also filter their movie collection by actor, director, or genre, as well as selecting any room to see what's playing or even start another movie.
"I no longer need to be in front of the television to fully control the system," says David Daniels of Electronic Systems Consultants in Aspen, Colo. "For one thing, I can be outside, by the pool, picking out music. And if I like what's playing, I can easily save it to play it again later."
Kaleidescape also announced a software update for its movie servers, available in Q4, that adds "Scenes" that enables users to play more than 4000 classic moments from over 700 popular films.
The software update also adds CinemaScape (see video below), which allows users with 2.35:1 setups to automatically fill their screen with all their movie information, without any lens shift being needed.
