JVC will be showing a state-of-the-art 4K D-ILA front projection theater in its booth at 2010 CES, which takes place Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas.

Two DLA-RS4000 4K projectors will be the main components of the display at the show.

JVC also will be exhibiting its GD-463D10 46-inch LCD monitor that includes Xpol technology, which is said to produce a flicker-free stereoscopic image with inexpensive, passive glasses.

JVC will have several of these monitors in its booth showing a variety of content, including a station that features the FujiFilm W1 Finepix 3D camera.

JVC will launch its IF-2D3D1 stereoscopic processor that converts 2D video to 3D in real time. This unit accepts a standard HDMI or HDSDI input in HD and provides stereo output in a variety of formats:
  • Sequential
  • Side-by-side
  • Line-by-line
  • Checkerboard
  • Anaglyph
  • Separate L/R signals
Additionally, the IF-2D3D1 can be used for professional applications, including the ability to accept discrete L/R signals from a stereoscopic camera rig and converting the signals to a standard that can be displayed on the GD-463D10 3D monitor for use by 3D production crews.

There is a variety of philosophies, artistic processes, and theatrical approaches to creating plays and drama. Some are connected to political or spiritual ideologies, and some are based on purely “artistic” concerns. Some processes focus on a story, some on theatre as event, and some on theatre as catalyst for social change. According to Aristotle’s seminal theatrical critique Poetics, there are six elements necessary for theatre: Plot, Character, Idea, Language, Music, and Spectacle. The 17th century Spanish writer Lope de Vega wrote that for theatre one needs “three boards, two actors, 70-448 and one passion”.Others notable for their contribution to theatrical philosophy are Konstantin Stanislavski,70-680 Antonin Artaud, Bertolt Brecht, Orson Welles, Peter Brook, and Jerzy Grotowski.

Konstantin Stanislavski is considered to be the father of theater technique, as he was the first person to ever write about it,70-432 and the majority of modern western theatre theory is derived from Stanislavski’s “system” in one form or another. Many of Stanislavski’s students rejected his system and began to create their own, these first new methods helped to blaze the way for future thoerists and ultimatly lead to the wide range of techniques that are studied and used today: such as the Meisner, Stanislavsky, Strasberg, and Hagen acting methods.
